Cardiometabolic Testing · Carlsbad, CA

Measure what matters. Train with precision.

Lab-grade VO2 max, ventilatory threshold, resting metabolic rate, and DXA body composition testing. Dial in your training zones, fueling, and longevity metrics with data built to inform every session that follows. Before the club opens, book your test and we'll come to you: track, treadmill, or stationary bike of your choice.

The Case for Testing

Three reasons to know your numbers.

Performance, longevity, and body composition all live or die by the same data. Testing gives you the baseline to improve against and the zones to train inside.

01

Performance

Personalized training zones, pacing targets, and fueling strategies built from your actual thresholds, not a generic age-based formula.

02

Longevity

VO2 max is one of the strongest predictors of healthspan and all-cause mortality. Track it like you would cholesterol or blood pressure.

03

Body Composition

Online calculators can miss your true metabolic rate by hundreds of calories a day. A DXA scan and RMR test measure it directly so your plan actually works.

Our Core Tests

One clearer picture.

Whether you want the full profile or a focused assessment, every test is administered with the VO2 Master device, trained physiology staff, and a sit-down review of your results. Members save 20%.

Most Comprehensive
Complete Cardiometabolic Profile
Non-members $199 · Members $159

Our full lab-grade assessment in a single session, bundling VO2 max, ventilatory thresholds (VT1 and VT2), FatMax and CarbMax, resting energy expenditure, and a DXA body composition scan. The most complete picture of your aerobic engine, fuel utilization, and body composition.

Who it's for: Anyone serious about performance, longevity, or body composition who wants the complete dataset.
How often: Once or twice a year for active adults. Every 8 to 12 weeks for athletes in a structured block.
Training Zones
Ventilatory Thresholds (VT1 / VT2)
Non-members $150 · Members $120

A focused treadmill or bike protocol that identifies the two physiological breakpoints separating your Zone 2, tempo, and VO2 max work. Heart rate zones from a watch or generic formula are usually off by 10 to 20 bpm. This test corrects that.

Who it's for: Runners, cyclists, triathletes, and anyone training by heart rate or power.
How often: Every 12 weeks for most athletes. Monthly inside a race-specific build.
Metabolism
Resting Energy Expenditure (REE)
Non-members $99 · Members $79

A 15 to 20 minute VO2 Master measurement of the calories your body burns at rest. This is the foundation of any accurate calorie target, whether you're cutting, bulking, or maintaining. No estimation, no formulas: your actual number.

Who it's for: Anyone setting calorie targets for fat loss, muscle gain, or recomposition.
How often: Once a year for most adults. Every 8 to 12 weeks during an active cut or bulk.
Body Composition
DXA Scan
Non-members $99 · Members $79

Gold-standard body composition analysis: lean mass, fat distribution, and bone density mapped with clinical accuracy. Available on its own or bundled into the Complete Cardiometabolic Profile.

Who it's for: Anyone tracking fat loss, muscle gain, or bone health with precision.
How often: Every 3 to 6 months during an active body composition phase.
Testing Cadence

How often should you test?

Your training goal sets the frequency. From once-a-year health baselines to monthly retests inside a race build, here's how to think about it.

ProfileFrequencyWhy
Active Adult / Longevity1x per yearTrack VO2 max and metabolic health alongside your other annual biomarkers.
Recreational Athlete2x per yearCalibrate training zones each season and verify fitness gains between blocks.
Competitive AthleteEvery 8 to 12 weeksRe-measure at the end of each structured block so the next block starts on fresh data.
Endurance Athlete in Race BuildMonthlyThresholds shift fast in a peaking phase. Monthly tests keep your zones and fueling dialed through race day.
